Between Arta and the Tzoumerka Mountains is Lake Pournari 25 minutes from the hotel. It is an artificial lake, which was created by the construction of a dam on the river Arachthos near the settlement of Pournari. This dam is the second largest dam in Greece and holds the waters of Arachthos controlling the flow of the river. Lake Pournari is home to many varieties of fish, such as carp, wild boar, wild trout and eels. Many birds, such as mallards, kingfishers and many others, find refuge here.

When the level is high we paddle just above the sunken settlement of 120 years. However, when the waters are low, this settlement comes to the surface and can be visited.
